Reconstruction and Reinforcement of Existing Steel Structures
Over time, every steel structure may be affected by wear, corrosion, deformation or changes in the loads acting upon it. This does not necessarily mean that the structure must be demolished and rebuilt from the ground up. When Does a Steel Structure Need Reinforcement?

Even when a structure appears stable, every proposed change should be carefully analysed.
Visible deformation, corroded connections, cracks around welds or loose fasteners should never be ignored. These signs may indicate that individual parts are no longer functioning properly. Timely intervention reduces the risk of more serious damage and allows the repair work to be carried out in stages, without completely stopping operations at the site.
How Is an Existing Structure Reconstructed?
The work begins with an inspection, measurements and an analysis of the structure’s actual condition. It is then determined which components can be retained and which must be strengthened or replaced. Depending on the specific situation, new beams, columns, plates, stiffeners or additional bracing elements may be installed.
It is particularly important for the new components to be manufactured to precise dimensions and correctly integrated into the existing structure. For more complex parts, metal laser cutting and CNC machining may be used to provide high accuracy and faster installation. This transforms reconstruction into a controlled process rather than a series of improvised repairs carried out on site.
